EVTEC GmbH

Since 2010, EVTEC has been building solutions for direct current fast charging with international partners. he experience in the network goes back to the beginnings of electromobility in the late 80s of the last century. Since 2014, CHAdeMO vehicle batteries have also been used as stationary or rolling storage systems for bidirectional energy exchange used. With the Honda e the first CCS2 vehicle came onto the market in 2018 and with sospeso&charge the first wallbox, which,
with approval in various European networks, has enabled bi-directional charging for many projects.
CARL International Research Center at the RWTH

CARL is an interdisciplinary research center at RWTH Aachen, offering a combined infrastructure of 5,000 m² for investigating the aging and lifetime of energy storage systems and power electronics. BMBF Cluster | greenBattNutzung

Cross-sectional initiative Battery Life Cycle (greenBatt Utilisation)
greenBattNutzung is part of the umbrella concept of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for battery research and consists of the competence clusters Recycling & Green Battery (greenBatt) and Battery Utilisation Concepts (BattNutzung). In both clusters, 55 institutes and research centres are working together on 29 research projects.
The task of BattNutzung is to develop, design and apply new concepts for the evaluation of battery systems. via a general understanding of the system.
The objectives of the battery utilisation cluster include
– Application-specific identification of special requirements for cell concepts
– Identification and quantification of factors influencing cell service life and cell safety
– Development of more efficient methods for estimating, predicting and monitoring cell service life and cell safety
greenBatt’s task is to develop, design and apply innovative technologies, methods and tools for an energy- and material-efficient battery life cycle and closed material and resource cycles.
Cluster goals of greenBatt include:
– Development and application of innovative recycling and resynthesis processes
– Increasing the quality and availability of data to develop multidisciplinary lifecycle models and tools
– Recommendations for design for recycling and end-of-use
